RACE DETAILS

Welcome to Run The Rock, offering spectacular 50mile, 20mile, 50K and half marathon loop-style trail races within Smith Rock State Park and the Crooked River National Grasslands, located near Bend, Oregon. All courses offer amazing views of the Cascade Range - from Mt Hood in the north to Mt Bachelor in the south. You will pass the sheer rock faces at Smith Rock State Park - famous for rock climbing - and the unique beauty of the Crooked River National Grasslands.

The 50mile consists of a 25.5mile loop run twice. Total elevation gain is 6600ft and 6600ft of loss. 80% of the course is on single-track trails, 20% on double track and dirt roads. There are 8 fully stocked aid stations and one minimal (unmanned) aid station.

The 50K follows much of the same loop the 50mile race uses, but a bonus is going up Misery Ridge right from the start and passing the flanks of Monkey Face. Total elevation gain is 5500ft and 5500ft of loss. 85% of the course is on single-track trails, 15% on double track and dirt roads. There are 4 fully stocked aid stations.

The 20mile course starts/finishes at Skull Hollow Campground and is the only race at Run The Rock that takes you to the top of Gray Butte. You will have fantastic views from Mt Adams in Washington State to Mt Bachelor. The course is on 80% single track and 20% double track and dirt roads. Total elevation gain is 4400ft and 4400ft of loss with 3 aid stations.

The half marathon course has incredible views of the Cascades and Monkey Face. There is one full aid station with about 2500ft of climbing packed into 13.1 miles. 90% of the course is on single-track trails.
