The Marathon starts and finishes at DD Ranch. The course follows rolling country roads out to the turn around near Skull Hollow Campground. The course returns and passes Smith Rock State Park with views of the rock formations and Cascade Mountains in the distance. There will be 13 water stations located along the course. Each station will have water, electrolyte, Skout Backcountry bars, and gels at stations after the turn around. Average elevation is 2900ft. The Marathon climbs 1000ft.
The Half Marathon starts and finishes at DD Ranch. The course stays close to Smith Rock State Park following rolling country roads. There will be 7 water stations located along the course stocked with water, electrolyte, Skout Backcountry, and gels. Average elevation is 2900ft. There is 500ft of climbing in the Half.
Temperatures in late September average a high of 72 and a low of 39.
