The 50 Mile is a single loop course with a short out and back on the south side of Lookout Mountain. The course begins with a gentle downhill out of Walton Sno park then moves onto single track through forest and meadows. 10 miles in, you begin a 7.5 mile climb to the summit of Lookout Mtn. After descending forested switchbacks to Upper Lookout Mtn AS, you will then follow the Independent Mine trail towards the summit of Lookout Mtn and drop down the south side via the Line Butte trail. The course reascends Lookout Mtn and takes you up and over Round Mtn as you make your way to the finish at Walton Sno Park. There is roughly 9000 feet of elevation gain.
Crew is allowed at aid stations 2 & 4/7 as well as the start/finish. Crew is not allowed at any other location on the race course. Any racer accepting aid from crew or crew assisting racers elsewhere will be disqualified.
There is a 12pm and 5pm cut off at Upper Lookout MTN TH - AS #4. Mile 21.5 and mile 39.8.

Drop bags are allowed at the Upper Lookout Mountain Trail Head Aid Station (AS 4 ). Drop bags need to be brought to start/finish race morning prior to race start. Drop bags will be returned to the start/finish area after the cut off time for the aid station. Volunteers/race staff are not responsible for lost items. Drop Bag Guidelines HERE
